Job summary

Newmark Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer/Operations Manager in Los Angeles to lead building engineering operations across site(s). You will supervise engineering staff in collaboration with the Property Manager and ensure timely maintenance and compliance.

You will drive capital planning, utility management, and safety programs, coordinating with tenants to sustain asset performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8-10 years’ experience as Engineer in 250 KSF or greater Class A building.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Proficient computer and e-mail skills.
• Area specific licenses required; CFC universal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and technical direction for operation and maintenance of the building.
• Manages the building engineering staff in conjunction with the Property Manager.
• Implement and track company policies to maintain asset at a high level; may oversee more than one site.
• Audit operations, project management, capital planning and utility management.
• Monitor safety compliance per OSHA and EPA, coordinate with vendors and tenants.
• Oversee after-hours coverage, staff training, and inspections for site readiness.
