Job summary

Newmark is seeking a skilled Building Operations Engineer to operate and maintain all building systems across properties, with the ability to work independently and respond to after-hours emergencies. The role emphasizes cost-effective, high-quality maintenance and adherence to preventive programs.

The candidate should have at least seven years of building operations experience, a high school diploma, and current licenses, with strong computer and email proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 7 years previous building operations engineering experience.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
• Proficient computer and e‑mail skills.
• Holds necessary/required licenses.
• Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and check operating logs daily on air conditioning, fan units, graph charts, utility meters and general complaints.
• Organize work orders to be performed by Building Engineers and ensure economical costs.
• Oversee preventive maintenance program and budget development support.
• Submit monthly reports to Building Manager on work performed.
• Respond to tenant complaints and satisfy needs promptly.
• Understand chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers and manage related tasks.
• Coordinate with service contractors and ensure proper record keeping.
