Job summary

Newmark Group is seeking a Building Engineer to operate and maintain all building systems and respond to after-hour emergencies. You will organize work orders, oversee preventive maintenance, and assist with budgeting and RFP processes across multiple properties.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in building operations, strong decision-making, and proficient computer skills, with necessary licenses and safety training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 7+ years of building operations/engineering experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and make decisions.
• Proficient computer and email skills.
• Required licenses and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and check operating logs daily for air conditioning, fan units, meters and general complaints.
• Organize work orders and ensure operations are economical with minimal downtime.
• Oversee and adhere to the preventive maintenance program.
• Assist in the development of the annual budget and RFP process for budgeted projects.
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls.
• Submit monthly reports to Building Manager on work performed and needs.
• Maintain organized building files and inventory of supplies.
• Understand life safety systems and fire/elevator test procedures.
