Job summary

Newmark is seeking a Building Operations Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems on site. The role may cover a single building with ongoing after-hours emergency response.

A valid CFC certification and at least five years of engineering experience are required. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, keeping detailed logs, and coordinating outside contractors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years previous building operations engineering experience.
• Must be CFC certified in high pressure discipline.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
• Proficient computer and e-mail skills.
• Holds any necessary/required licenses.
• Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing, or arranging for repairs of all building operating systems on the site.
• Maintain, service and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems as described.
• Be responsive to tenant requests in safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and environmental needs.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records using preventative maintenance and work order systems.
• Coordinate contractor, tenant and management approvals for work orders involving outside contractors.
• Ensure safety of building tenants and continuous operation of the site.
• Familiar with operating procedures and assist in snow and ice clearing operations as needed.
• Maintain organized building files; may perform other duties as assigned.
