Job summary

Newmark Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to operate and maintain the building systems across properties. The role requires independence, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a focus on economical operation and reliability.

The candidate should respond to after-hours emergency calls and help manage annual budgets and maintenance projects. Responsibilities include logs, preventive maintenance, inventory management, and coordinating with building managers to meet tenant needs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 7 years previous building operations engineering experience.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
• Proficient computer and e-mail skills.
• Holds necessary/required licenses.
• Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and check operating logs daily on building systems (air conditioning, fans, meters).
• Organize work orders to be performed by Building Engineers and ensure tenant requests are handled affordably.
• Oversee preventive maintenance program and keep records up to date.
• Assist in development of annual budgets and RFP processes for projects.
• Order supplies and materials and maintain inventory of expendables and tools.
• Record meter readings and maintain organized building files.
• Respond to tenant complaints promptly and ensure satisfaction.
• Coordinate life safety tests and ensure alarms/elevator systems function properly.
