Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Building Mechanical Engineer to work on Northwest infrastructure projects, designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for water, labs and offices.

You will join the Infrastructure Design Department to mentor junior engineers, coordinate with architects and clients, and ensure quality, schedule and budgets are met, with a hybrid work policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive building mechanical engineering and project delivery experience.
• Strong data analysis skills and technical problem-solving ability.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Design complete HVAC systems, including central plants and equipment selection.
• Design plumbing and fire protection systems per local codes.
• Perform HVAC load calculations, duct sizing, energy analyses (RESCHECK/COMCHECK).
• Prepare design drawings, specs, and basis of design reports.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and technicians; mentor junior staff.
• Lead meetings with clients, vendors and project stakeholders.
• Manage quality, schedule, budgets and interface with contractors.
• Support field staff during construction and submittal reviews.
