Job summary

C&W Services (S) seeks a Chief Engineer in Fort Wayne, IN to oversee daily operations, preventive maintenance, and repairs of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems, coordinating staff, subcontractors and vendors to meet contractual obligations.

The role emphasizes safety program implementation, EMS/HAZ oversight, energy conservation, and development of long-term capital plans while ensuring high workmanship standards and compliance with AES standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school.
• Experience commensurate with Chief Engineer role; prefer 5 years of progressive operations experience.
• Computer skills and building automation systems experience required; OSHA training where applicable.
• State/local licenses for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC; universal refrigerant recovery license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement and document site safety plans.
• Supervise preventive maintenance and repairs; delegate to staff or subcontractors.
• Carry out emergency repairs according to priority.
• Plan maintenance tasks to meet contract obligations with quality workmanship.
• Provide technical guidance on electric theory and building systems safety procedures.
• Manage CMMS to track schedules, work orders, and PM results.
• Prepare monthly reports on labor, utilities, and maintenance results.
• Develop and implement capital plans and energy conservation programs.
