Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related facilities in a fast-paced commercial environment.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment, monitor Building Management Systems, and coordinate with contractors to ensure reliable operations and safety compliance. The role emphasizes documentation, problem solving, and energy efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years operating, monitoring, or troubleshooting Building Management Systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, electrical controls, and building operations.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and control diagrams.
• Experience using BMS graphics, alarms, and trends to assess performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment including AHUs, VAVs, chillers, pumps, exhaust fans, VFDs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Building Management Systems alarms, schedules, setpoints, sensor readings, trends, and control sequences.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Validate operation of sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, and field devices.
• Review BMS graphics and data to identify abnormal conditions and inefficiencies.
• Coordinate with controls contractors, service providers, and remote BMS teams to resolve issues.
• Assist with testing, startup, commissioning, and validation of new systems.
• Support energy management by improving equipment scheduling and operating sequences.
• Maintain accurate work orders, equipment records, and maintenance documentation.
• Respond to facility requests and emergencies while following CBRE safety requirements.
