Job summary

Civil Recruit is seeking a Building Engineer to supervise maintenance techs and contractors across multiple corporate campuses. You will manage preventive maintenance, repairs, and system optimizations for electrical, mechanical, and BAS-controlled equipment to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires 5+ years in building engineering or supervision, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility for after-hours work. You will report to the Sr.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years as building engineer, supervisor, or lead technician.
• Experience reading electrical, plumbing & mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Must have knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• CMMS experience and cost estimating experience are preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work under pressure.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to respond to after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 1–2 in-house maintenance technicians and multiple contractors.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Respond to emergency calls after hours when safety is at risk.
• Develop and approve SOWs, quotes, and material estimates for repairs.
• Lead preventative maintenance programs and inspections across campuses.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and energy efficiency standards.
• Maintain energy management programs and optimize building systems.
