Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Sr. Building Engineer in the United States to perform complex preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and effective coordination with external contractors.

Responsibilities include monitoring building systems, estimating task needs, and maintaining energy efficiency, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability in a dynamic facility environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with eight or more years of experience in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC, or equivalent combination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization and analytical abilities.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Operates, maintains, monitors, and performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building equipment including mechanical/HVAC/plumbing systems and electrical cabling.
• Maintains the professional appearances of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
• Maintains the building lighting system and performs repairs or replacements as needed.
• Prepares estimates detailing time and material needs and orders necessary materials.
• Maintains energy management programs to minimize operating costs.
• Oversees and inspects work by outside contractors (landscaping, snow removal, HVAC, etc.).
• Performs specialized tasks (carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, welding, furniture assembly/relocation, locksmith).
• Uses PC/PDA for work orders, email, ESS, training; responds to emergencies and customer concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
