Job summary

ECS Group is seeking a Building Enclosure Principal to join the Pacific Building Science + Infrastructure team in Walnut Creek, CA. You will lead building enclosure consulting projects, mentor junior staff, and act as a senior technical expert on investigations, testing, and design consulting for diverse facilities.

In this client-facing role, you will manage projects, budgets, and schedules, foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, and advance ECS standards across ongoing engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture (NCARB).
• 12+ years of related experience in building enclosure consulting, including testing, commissioning (BECx), design review, or forensic assessments.
• Registered Architect license required.
• Certified in at least one of the following preferred but not required: IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP) or UW–MadisonBECxP/CxA+BE.

Responsibilities

• Lead building enclosure consulting projects and serve as a senior technical expert.
• Provide technical guidance and oversee field work and reports.
• Manage projects, budgets, staffing, and client communication.
• Mentor junior staff and Associate Principals; support team growth.
• Grow client relationships and participate in proposals and business development.
