Job summary

ECS Group is seeking a Building Enclosure Principal to join its Pacific Building Science + Infrastructure team in Walnut Creek, CA. You will lead enclosure projects, provide senior technical guidance, and mentor staff while collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality consulting across diverse facilities.

You will drive project management, ensure adherence to technical standards, and support business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture (NCARB).
• 12+ years of related experience in building enclosure consulting, including testing, commissioning (BECx), design review, or forensic assessments.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
• Certified in at least one of the following preferred but not required: IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP) or UW–Madison BECxP/CxA+BE.

Responsibilities

• Lead building enclosure consulting projects and serve as a senior technical expert.
• Mentor junior staff and Associates Principals.
• Oversee budgets, change orders, and staffing for multiple concurrent projects.
• Provide peer review and technical oversight of field work and reports.
• Engage with clients, architects, contractors, engineers, and owners to deliver practical solutions.
