Job summary

ECS Group is seeking a Building Enclosure Principal in Walnut Creek, CA to lead enclosure consulting projects within the Pacific Building Science + Infrastructure team. You will serve as a senior technical expert on investigations, assessments, commissioning, testing, and design consulting across various facilities.

You will work with clients and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate envelope performance, support construction quality, and deliver practical consulting solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Architectural, Structural Engineering, or Architecture (NCARB).
• 12+ years of related experience in building enclosure consulting, including testing, commissioning (BECx), design review, or forensic assessments.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
• IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP) preferred
• BECxP and CxA+BE certifications from UW–Madison are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead buildings enclosure consulting projects and mentor junior staff.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight on testing, investigations, and design reviews.
• Manage projects from setup through closeout, including budgets and staffing.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
• Contribute to internal templates, processes, and technical standards.
