Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Building Enclosure Principal in Walnut Creek, CA. You will lead enclosure consulting projects, serve as a senior technical expert, and mentor junior staff within a collaborative team.

This client-facing role requires coordinating with architects, engineers, and owners to deliver practical, compliant solutions across facilities. You will oversee project execution, budgets, staffing, and proposals, while ensuring technical excellence and adherence to ECS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture (NCARB).
• 12+ years of related experience in building enclosure consulting, including testing, commissioning (BECx), design review, or forensic assessments.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Certified in at least one of the following preferred: IIBEC certifications or UW–Madison BECxP/CxA+BE.

Responsibilities

• Lead building enclosure consulting projects and act as a senior technical expert on investigations, assessments, commissioning, testing, and design consulting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and Associate Principals.
• Perform principal-level review of reports and deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.
• Oversee project budgets, staffing, and scheduling across multiple concurrent projects.
• Engage in business development and maintain client relationships to identify new opportunities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate findings to clients and owners.
