Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems seeks a senior Building Automation Systems Design Engineer to lead BAS vendor submittal reviews and produce complete BAS design packages for critical facilities. The role involves evaluating sequences of operations, points lists, schematics, and network diagrams, and coordinating with mechanical and electrical teams.

You will independently set technical direction, review against design standards, and mentor junior engineers while delivering high-quality documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or related engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience reviewing BAS vendor submittals against design standards and issuing grounded comments.
• Ability to independently produce BAS design packages with sequences of operations, points lists, schematics, and schedules.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, DDC and PLC control platforms.
• Familiarity with HVAC and mechanical/electrical systems related to controls integration.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Visio for design and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication for design intent with integrators and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Phase 1: Review BAS vendor/submittals, shop drawings, and controls programming for compliance with standards and design intent.
• Audit sequences of operations, points lists, schematics, riser diagrams, network diagrams, and BOMs.
• Provide technically grounded comments and track closure through revisions.
• Validate hardware and networks across BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, MQTT and DDC/PLC platforms.
• Ensure HVAC/mechanical/electrical integration meets reliability for critical facilities.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and facility teams on reviews and RFIs.
