Job summary

New Mexico Department of Transportation in Santa Fe seeks a Senior Budget Analyst to provide advanced budgetary support and technical expertise. The role focuses on developing program budgets, monitoring revenues and expenditures, and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SHARE/Oracle PeopleSoft, multiple funding sources, and expert-level MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Advance experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Detailed analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Budget process.
• Knowledge of the Statewide Financial System (SHARE) (Oracle PeopleSoft).
• Experience with multiple funding sources.

Responsibilities

• Annual development and preparation of appropriation and budget requests for one of the four programs within NMDOT.
• Monitor and analyze monthly revenues and expenditures, identifying discrepancies and proposing solutions.
• Preparation of Budget Adjustment Requests (BARs) and Realignment of Budgets (ROBs).
• Bi-weekly reviews of payroll projections and hiring recommendations.
