The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) Revenue and Budget Bureau seeks an executive to lead budgeting, revenue forecasting, and financial management for a $1.3 billion operating budget. You will guide annual budget development, fund management, and reporting across four major programs.

Ideal candidates bring advanced Excel/Office skills, public sector budgeting experience, and the ability to coordinate across divisions to ensure fiscal stewardship and timely financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business/finance-related field.
• 3 years experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or Auditing; 1 year supervisory experience.
• Combination of education and experience totaling seven years may substitute for the degree and experience.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership for budgeting, revenue forecasting, and financial management at NMDOT.
• Direct development and submission of the department's annual operating budget and revenue estimates.
• Oversee Preparation of BARs, ROBs, and other financial actions and ensure compliance.
• Provide guidance on budget policies and resolve variances in revenues and expenditures.
• Manage payroll projection processes and align staffing with funding.
• Review monthly budget status, coordinate rollovers, and provide financial analysis to executive leadership.
• Collaborate with divisions to ensure stewardship of funds and accurate reporting.
• Provide operational support to the Administrative Services Director to sustain compliant budget operations.
