Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Broadband Specialist IV to maintain the HFC and CATV distribution systems, troubleshoot outages, and support new service activations. The role requires field work, climbing, and tolerance for outdoor conditions.

You will perform tests, adjust trunk levels, install electronics, and ensure compliance with safety and company procedures while providing an outstanding customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; satisfactory driving record.
• Minimum 6 months as Broadband Specialist III or 5+ years’ equivalent cable technician experience.
• 18 months tenure as a Mediacom BBS III or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of HFC plant, installs and service calls.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system tests such as signal/noise, HF tests, and return loss; RF knowledge required.
• Set trunk levels; install and swap trunk amplifiers; calculate signal losses.
• Install electronics and power connections; maintain power supplies.
• Use and maintain test equipment; troubleshoot coax & fiber systems.
• Climb poles and ladders; lift up to 100 lbs; work in confined spaces.
• Prepare project estimates; create bill of materials; assist other teams.
