Job summary

Mediacom Communications seeks a Broadband Specialist IV (Maintenance) to perform field technical work, maintaining the HFC and CATV distribution systems from node to tap. Responsibilities include trunk level management, testing, and repair of the coaxial and fiber networks for reliable service.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (associates preferred) and valid driver’s license, with 6 months+ in Broadband Specialist III or 5+ years as a cable technician.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Minimum: 6 months as Broadband Specialist III or 5+ years equivalent cable technician experience.
• 18 months tenure as a Mediacom BBS III or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system tests such as signal/noise, signal/hum, and return loss; perform RF troubleshooting and HFC plant balance.
• Set trunk levels and replace trunk amplifiers; calculate signal losses on trunk and distribution lines.
• Install electronics and make power connections; maintain power supplies.
• Use and maintain all test equipment; troubleshoot and repair coaxial and fiber distribution systems.
