Job summary

Stantec in New York City is seeking a Senior Bridge Design Engineer to support our growing NY Bridge and Transportation practice. You will lead bridge design squads on large-scale infrastructure projects, coordinating with leadership and project managers to deliver complex, AASHTO-based designs for bridges, interchanges, and roadways.

The role requires a PE license in NY (or ability to obtain) and 10–15 years’ experience delivering multi-span steel and concrete bridges, in fast-paced

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10-15 years’ experience in Bridge Design and/or design of transportation structures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York (or ability to obtain with 6 months).
• Demonstrated experience delivering multi‑span steel and concrete bridge projects (new designs and/rehabilitation).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and review of bridge components ensuring compliance with design criteria, standards and specifications.
• Provide oversight and technical overview of bridge designs and act as Package Lead or Engineer-of-Record.
• Lead preparation of design and construction documents in accordance with NYSDOT and local agency standards.
• Lead design‑build pursuits and coordination with internal disciplines (highway, traffic, geotechnical).
