Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer in our Albany, NY office. The successful candidate will join a dynamic bridges team and contribute to projects across New York State and North America, shaping safer, more resilient transportation structures.

Requirements include a NY-licensed PE, proficiency with STAAD, CSI, SAP, AASHTOWare BrR, AutoCAD, Microstation, and OpenBridge Modeler. Minimum five years of bridge design and analysis experience and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the structural design and analysis of bridges and transportation structures.
• Professional Engineering license or the ability to get one in NY

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and preparation of contract documents for new bridges and rehabilitation of existing bridges
• Perform load rating analysis of existing bridges
• Perform design calculations, drawings, and details for various bridge design projects
• Mentor and monitor junior structural engineers
• Review shop drawings produced by fabricators and detailers, calculations performed by other engineers, coordinate with design team, site visits to address site issues and verify existing conditions, and respond to request for information
• Assist with the management and administration of projects, including budget tracking, developing staffing requirements, coordinating quality reviews, and assuring compliance with Health, Safety, Security and Environment fundamentals
• Coordinate with clients as required to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
