Job summary

Stantec’s New York City office is seeking a highly motivated Bridge Design Engineer to support our growing New York Bridge and Transportation practice on large infrastructure projects. Under supervision, you will assist on design of bridges, interchanges, and public spaces, delivering AASHTO-based design and related structures.

Qualifications include PE license in NY/NJ or ability to obtain, and proficiency in CSI Bridge, LARSA 4D, OpenBridge, and other design tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering or BSc in Civil (Structural).
• 5–10 years of bridge and structural design experience.
• Professional Engineer license in New York (or ability to obtain).
• Experience delivering multi-span steel and concrete bridges.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses with finite element modeling and load rating per AASHTO LRFD and local standards.
• Develop design deliverables including criteria, plans, specs, quantities and calculations.
• Prepare steel and concrete design calculations, quantities, and reports.
• Supervise and mentor junior bridge engineers and CAD designers.
• Lead preparation of design and construction documents per NYSDOT standards.
• Resolve technical problems with independent decision making.
• Review show drawings, RFIs, and field changes.
• Support design‑build pursuits and develop technical concepts.
• Coordinate with highway, traffic, geotechnical disciplines.
