Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Major Crossings Design-Build Principal to lead pursuit, planning, and execution of large bridge and transportation projects across the U.S. You will provide strategic leadership across DB and alternative delivery, guiding multidisciplinary teams and fostering client relationships to expand Jacobs' presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration.
• 15+ years of experience managing complex multidisciplinary highway and bridge projects.
• Design Manager, Project Manager, or senior design leader on major transportation projects with bridges.
• Proven Design-Build or alternative delivery experience on transportation projects over $500M.
• Experience QA/QC program development and management.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and team development skills.
• Willingness to travel or co-locate with project teams as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Design Manager responsible for coordinating and delivering design on large, complex DB projects.
• Champion DB and alternative delivery capabilities across geographies and markets.
• Mentor bridge and highway Design Managers and promote best practices.
• Lead pursuit activities including proposal development, technical leadership, and ATC development.
• Build relationships with contractors, agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams across offices and locations in fast-paced environments.
• Collaborate with controls, scheduling, and construction teams to monitor performance and risks.
• Ensure excellence in delivery through quality management and client engagement.
• Oversee contract administration, financial performance, invoicing, and profitability.
• Develop execution plans, staffing strategies, and resource needs for each phase.
• Coordinate Project Engineers and Technical Specialists to ensure safe, efficient delivery.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, forecasts, and metrics across disciplines.
