Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Major Crossings Design-Build Principal to lead pursuit, planning, and delivery of large bridge and transportation projects across the US. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, foster client relationships, and expand our Design-Build footprint, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.

You will provide strategic leadership from pursuit through final delivery, mentoring design managers and coordinating with controls, scheduling, and construction teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration required.
• 15+ years of experience managing complex highway and bridge projects.
• Proven Design Manager/Project Manager or senior design lead on major transportation projects.
• Design-Build or alternative delivery experience with projects $500M+ in value.
• Experience developing and managing QA/QC programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel or co-locate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Design Manager for coordination and delivery on large, complex Design-Build projects.
• Lead pursuit activities including proposal development and ATC
• Mentor bridge and highway design managers across multiple offices.
• Coordinate with client meetings and industry events to promote capabilities.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient projects on time and on budget.
• Collaborate with project controls, scheduling, and construction to monitor performance.
• Ensure high-quality client engagement and effective resource utilization.
• Oversee contract administration, invoicing, and project profitability.
• Develop execution plans, staffing strategies, and resource needs.
