Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Bellefonte to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and strong client service. You’ll post transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial statements within our client-focused practice.

Responsibilities include processing payroll, generating 1099s and W-2s, and communicating with clients, vendors, and banking contacts. You’ll work with discretion and uphold GAAP standards to support client growth and retention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from NB A, or the ability to obtain certifications.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Confidentiality and discretion in handling information.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
