Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service, integral to supporting clients and communities.

You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, generate statements, process payroll, and prepare 1099s/W-2s while upholding privacy and professional standards. Experience with Xero is preferred, and high school diploma plus certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of GAAP and payroll procedures.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
