Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll, and client service. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate financial statements while supporting client retention and growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates bring 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain a national bookkeeping certification. Xero experience is preferred and professionalism is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• National bookkeeping certification or the ability to obtain it.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience and GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with Xero is preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts to maintain accuracy.
• Generate and analyze financial statements for clients.
• Prepare and process payroll for multiple clients.
• Generate 1099s and W-2s and manage tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and banking contacts.
• Support client retention and growth opportunities.
