Job summary

Globaltize is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant for a fully remote position serving a portfolio of US-based clients. You will own month-end close, reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and manage AP/AR for multiple entities with accuracy and timeliness.

You will also review colleagues' work, provide feedback, and maintain clear client communication and updated SOPs. This role requires strong English writing and EST/EDT hours support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• 3+ years owning month-end close for multiple clients.
• Strong in QuickBooks Online and Xero (both required).
• Solid accrual accounting: journal entries, accruals, payroll entries, balance sheet reconciliations.
• Has reviewed other people's bookkeeping work.
• Excellent written English: clear, short, and professional.
• Reliable availability 10 am to 3 pm Eastern, Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Run month-end close for your portfolio, ready for final review by the 10th of each month.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and all balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, including payroll, accruals, and prepaid schedules, and make sure liability accounts tie out.
• Manage AP, AR, and 1099 work as each client requires.
• Be the main point of contact for your clients' bookkeeping questions and open items.
• Do first-pass reviews of other bookkeepers' month-end work.
• Give clear, written feedback and confirm fixes are made.
• Spot repeat mistakes and fix the process, not just the transaction.
• Send short, clear status updates before anyone asks.
• Raise blockers and missed dates the same day, with what you tried.
• Give a date when you take on work, and reset it early if it slips.
• Answer both email and Slack promptly.
• Update ClickUp tasks and statuses the same day work happens.
• Log time accurately to each client in Everhour.
• Follow and improve our SOPs; document new workflows when you create them.
