AbbVie's Biotransformation and Disposition team seeks a Senior Scientist II to drive in vitro and in vivo biotransformation studies. Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Life Sciences or related field with 4+ years; or MS with 8+ years or BS with 10+ years of relevant research experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, structure elucidation, DMPK processes including analytical method development, metabolite profiling, and biotransformation.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation and collaboration skills; ability to work independently across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven leadership capabilities, including mentoring, driving innovation, cross-functional relationships, and high performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, interpret, and report in vitro and in vivo biotransformation studies to identify metabolites and clearance mechanisms.
• Perform metabolite profiling and structural elucidation using LC-MS/MS and high‑resolution MS.
• Develop, optimize, maintain, and troubleshoot chromatographic and MS methods, including radiolabeled assays where applicable.
• Integrate metabolite data with broader ADME/DMPK findings to support compound selection and development decisions.
• Represent the Biotransformation and Disposition team on cross‑functional projects and communicate findings through reports and regulatory documents.
