Job summary

WACKER is seeking a senior Business Development Manager with a strong biotech/biopharma network to join our North America team. The role focuses on plasmid DNA, mRNA, recombinant proteins, and related manufacturing services in the advanced therapies space, located on the West Coast.

You will expand client networks, develop proposals with milestones and pricing, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with BU/BD teams to meet regional sales targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in biologics/microbial protein production; 5+ years commercial in Pharma/Biotech.
• Strong presentation experience to customers in a highly technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and expand new client network and business development opportunities across visits, calls, road shows, and trade shows.
• Plan and perform sales, develop proposals with milestones and pricing, negotiate contracts with Wacker Biotech.
• Manage all business aspects of customer relationships and deliver exemplary services.
• Collaborate with BU/BD leadership, Technical experts, PM and SMEs to meet regional sales targets.
• Stay current on competitors and help shape future service offerings.
• Maintain accurate records of customer visits and negotiations; provide timely reports.
• Develop and update industry knowledge across production sites (San Diego, Jena & Halle, Amsterdam).
