Job summary

Syngene International Ltd. is seeking a Director of Business Development, Biologics – West Coast U.S. to own regional P&L, drive pipeline and revenue growth across CDMO services, and manage senior client relationships.

You will lead multi‑disciplinary teams, coordinate with global delivery, and navigate complex deals from prospecting to contract signing, targeting $15M+ annual revenue with a consultative, values‑driven approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• MBA or PhD in a relevant scientific field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow the region with full accountability for revenue, pipeline, and new business closures, driving both early‑stage (CLD/FIH) and late‑stage (Tech Transfer/PPQ/Commercial) opportunities.
• Lead complex deal cycles end‑to‑end: prospecting, RFx, solutioning, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution, ensuring high‑quality, competitive, and timely submissions.
• Build and expand biotech and pharma client relationships, acting as the primary commercial interface and developing trust through strong understanding of technical needs, timelines, and business priorities.
• Drive new customer acquisition through targeted outreach, conferences, and inbound lead conversion, in close coordination with internal sales and marketing teams.
• Partner with global scientific, technical, and delivery teams (U.S. & India) to craft differentiated, client‑centric solutions aligned with operational capabilities.
• Maintain strong pipeline visibility, forecasting accuracy, and CRM (Salesforce) discipline, including weekly updates and effective management of long sales cycles.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally across scientific, operations, finance, legal, and project management teams to align expectations and ensure seamless execution.
• Proactively manage stakeholder expectations while identifying opportunities to enhance commercial value and long‑term account growth.
• Drive high‑quality, timely RFx and proposal execution in partnership with global teams, while negotiating contracts with strong commercial rigor and maintaining proposal velocity, forecasting accuracy, and strict quality and time discipline.
