Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician II to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and support a broad range of medical equipment across the health system. You will apply technical expertise to ensure equipment safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with clinicians and vendors.

The role includes preventive maintenance, installation support, and on-call after hours.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
3-5 years related work experience required.
2 years experience in electronics; familiarity with medical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses, tests, troubleshoots to component level, repairs and calibrates equipment to manufacturer specs.
Uses oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters and related test equipment.
Maintains records of repairs and inspections in paper and computer systems.
Assists in installation of capital equipment purchases for direct patient-care equipment.
Interfaces with manufacturers on clinical and technical projects as needed.
Maintains knowledge of electronics advances and equipment changes.
Participates in after-hours emergency service coverage as required.
