Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide advanced maintenance and support for biomedical and clinical data/network systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and repairs while ensuring patient safety and equipment uptime.

The role requires strong documentation, collaboration with vendors, and ability to work across multiple hospital locations, including operating rooms as needed. A related degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent field in electronics/biomedical engineering.
• Progressive repair and preventive maintenance experience in biomedical equipment.
• Ability to document repairs and maintenance in work order systems.
• Willingness to visit multiple locations and perform in operating rooms when required.
• CPET/CBET preferred? (where applicable) and valid driver’s license compliance.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and calibrates equipment.
• Completes preventive maintenance workload to achieve high PM compliance.
• Develops and updates PM manuals and QA testing procedures.
• Reviews incident reports and ensures patient safety.
• Leads equipment evaluations, acquisitions, and installations.
• Obtains quotes and supports bids and capital purchases.
• Evaluates repair extent and cost-effectiveness to maximize uptime.
• Provides in-service training and oversees external contractors.
