Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain and repair biomedical, clinical data and network systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibration, testing, and repairs to ensure reliability across related technologies.

Responsibilities include safety checks, equipment installations, and training peers while maintaining up-to-date documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
• High School Diploma/GED with 2 years progressive experience in electronic/electromechanical repairs.
• 1 year progressive experience performing electronic/electromechanical repairs on biomedical equipment.
• Ability to perform component level repairs at least 35% of the time.
• Proficient in repair and preventive maintenance of Anesthesia Machines, Anesthetic Gas Analyzers, Blood Cell Savers, and Diagnostic Ultrasound machines.
• Knowledge of QA procedures and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of alternative parts providers and service documentation.
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Completes the preventive maintenance workload to achieve high PM compliance.
• Provides safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
• Identifies and procures supplies to service equipment at low cost.
• Maintains technical literature and references for the biomedical program.
• Ensures equipment compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Provides presentations to peers to share new trends.
• Offers in-service and training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
