Job summary

Jefferson Health in Turnersville, NJ, is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform advanced maintenance and repair of biomedical and clinical data/network systems. The role covers installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on a range of medical devices and related technologies.

The position requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, with 1–2 years in PM/repair of biomedical equipment, and ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 2 years progressive experience performing electronic and/or electromechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment.
• 1 year progressive experience performing repairs and PM on biomedical equipment.
• Ability to perform component-level repairs at least 35% of the time.
• Proficiency in repair and PM of anesthesia machines, anesthetic gas analyzers, blood cell savers, and diagnostic ultrasound machines.
• Knowledge of QA procedures, preventive maintenance procedures, and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Completes the preventive maintenance workload to achieve a high level of PM compliance.
• Provides safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
• Identifies and supplies materials required to service, maintain, and repair equipment cost-effectively.
• Maintains technical literature and references standards for the biomedical program.
• Ensures equipment compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Gives presentations to peers to keep staff updated on trends.
• Provides in-service and training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.

Education

Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering

High School Diploma/GED with 2 years progressive experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields
