Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University seeks a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide advanced maintenance, installation, and calibration of biomedical and clinical data systems. You will perform PM, QA testing, and coordinate with vendors for equipment upgrades across multiple locations.

The role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, hand-on repair experience, and the ability to work in a customer-focused, fast-paced environment with occasional in-room service calls.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years progressive experience if no degree.
• Experience with biomedical equipment repairs and PM.
• Ability to respond to diagnostic ultrasound, portable fluoroscopy, and dye injector service calls.
• Strong documentation and patient-safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and calibrates equipment.
• Develop and implement PM manuals and QA testing procedures.
• Review incident reports and ensure patient safety.
• Lead new equipment evaluations, acquisitions, and installations.
• Obtain quotes and work with bids and capital purchases.
• Oversee external contractors for specialized equipment.
• Provide in-service training to staff.
