Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University seeks an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, installations, testing, and repairs on biomedical and clinical data systems. You will ensure regulatory compliance, provide safety checks, and help keep equipment up to date through documentation and training.

The role requires hands-on repair skills, knowledge of QA standards, and the ability to work across multiple campus locations in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields or a high school diploma with 2 years of progressive related experience.
• Minimum 1 year progressive experience performing electronic/electromechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment.
• Ability to perform component-level repairs at least 35% of the time.
• Experience with Anesthesia Machines, Anesthetic Gas Analyzers, Blood Cell Savers, and Diagnostic Ultrasound machines.
• Knowledge of QA procedures, parts sourcing, and work order tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Completes PM workload to maintain high PM compliance.
• Performs safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical equipment.
• Maintains technical literature and regulatory compliance for the biomedical program.
• Provides training and in-service on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
• Visiting multiple locations as needed and coordinating with teams.
