Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, calibration, testing, and repair of biomedical and clinical data/network systems. Responsibilities include safety checks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires an electronics/biomedical background with hands-on experience in anesthesia machines, diagnostic ultrasound, and related devices, plus teamwork and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, or related field OR high school diploma with 2 years progressive experience in electronic/electromechanical repairs and PM on biomedical equipment.
• 1 year progressive experience in electronic/electromechanical repairs and PM on biomedical equipment.
• Ability to perform component level repairs at least 35% of the time.
• Knowledge of anesthesia machines, gas analyzers, blood cell savers, and diagnostic ultrasound devices.

Responsibilities

• Completes the PM workload to maintain high PM compliance.
• Performs safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
• Obtains supplies and materials to service equipment at lowest cost.
• Maintains technical literature and regulatory documentation for biomedical program.
• Ensures equipment compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Provides training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
