Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain and service a broad range of clinical devices in Philadelphia, PA. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and QA testing, ensuring patient safety across departments.

Responsibilities include evaluating new equipment, coordinating quotes and purchases, training staff, and supervising external vendors to maximize uptime and reliability of essential devices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent with 5 years progressive experience in biomedical equipment.
• 4 years progressive experience repairing and maintaining biomedical devices.
• Ability to respond to diagnostic ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and dye injector service calls.
• Ability to operate in operating rooms and to document work orders.
• Knowledge of device control records and equipment maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and calibrates equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance and QA testing on biomedical devices.
• Reviews incident reports and ensures patient safety.
• Leads new equipment evaluations, acquisitions, and installations.
• Provides in‑service training and oversees external contractors.
