Talent Acquisition LLC, on behalf of a leading Am Law firm in New York, seeks a Senior Billing Specialist to manage the complete attorney billing lifecycle. You will partner with attorneys, legal support staff, and finance to ensure accurate, timely invoices that comply with billing guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of law firm billing experience, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to independently drive the billing process from proforma through final invoicing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the full legal billing lifecycle, including proformas, invoice edits, final billing, and reporting.
• Partner with attorneys and legal support teams to ensure accurate and timely client invoicing.
• Research and resolve complex billing inquiries, discrepancies, and client billing issues.
• Ensure invoices comply with client billing guidelines, outside counsel requirements, and firm policies.
• Collaborate with eBilling, Accounts Receivable, Pricing, Revenue Management, and other Finance teams to resolve billing matters.
• Generate billing reports and maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.
• Monitor billing deadlines and manage workload throughout monthly billing cycles.
• Provide responsive billing guidance and support to attorneys and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and operational efficiency.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client and financial information.

This role will partner closely with attorneys, legal support staff, and finance teams to ensure client invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with billing guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of law firm billing experience, strong analytical skills, and demonstrated experience independently managing the billing process from proforma through final invoicing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of legal billing experience within a law firm required.
• Demonstrated experience managing the full attorney billing process from proforma through final invoicing.
• Strong knowledge of legal billing procedures, client guidelines, and outside counsel requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and overall Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with Elite 3E or another enterprise legal billing system preferred.
• Experience with electronic billing platforms preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and client service skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional, dependable, and able to exercise sound judgment while handling confidential information.
