Job summary

E2B is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own billing end-to-end—from metering, usage, and invoicing to collections and the Stripe integration. You will redesign the system with input from engineering, finance, and customers, ensuring scalable data models and reliable APIs.

You’ll collaborate across Core, Platform, and Dashboard teams to define data contracts, improve observability, and enable audit-ready revenue reporting. Hybrid work with SF and Prague offices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in billing systems or equivalent
• Strong Go programming experience
• Solid API design with REST/RPC
• Deep PostgreSQL knowledge and data modeling
• Experience with authentication/authorization
• Billing automation and invoicing experience
• Familiar with Stripe billing workflows and payments
• Clear cross-functional communication with finance

Responsibilities

• Own billing services end-to-end: metering, charges, invoicing, payments, data models
• Own Stripe integration: subscriptions, Billing Meters, invoicing edge cases
• Build billing automation: failed payments, collections, proration, credits, refunds
• Collaborate with Core, Platform, and Dashboard to define data contracts
• Partner with Finance on reconciliation, revenue reporting, audit-readiness
• Make architectural decisions around observability, testing, and security
