Job summary

Cursor is hiring a Software Engineer, Billing to evolve the systems that power how we charge and reconcile revenue across millions of developers and enterprise teams. You will own the end-to-end billing stack, from usage metering to invoices in Stripe, and ensure accuracy, scale, and transparency.

You will collaborate with product, infra, and finance to design robust billing APIs, maintain the ledger as the source of truth, and raise observability across the pipeline.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping a usage-based billing system in production.
• Deep knowledge of Stripe data model, webhooks, and mid-cycle changes.
• Experience building or maintaining a financial ledger with reconciliation.
• Focus on correctness and reducing manual invoice reviews.

Responsibilities

• Implement usage and billing systems changes end-to-end.
• Evolve ledger system as source of truth for balances, credits, overages, and adjustments.
• Integrate deeply with Stripe including subscriptions, usage records, invoices, webhooks, and mid-cycle changes.
• Build billing APIs and internal tooling for product, finance, and customer success teams.
• Improve observability across the billing pipeline to detect and debug regressions.
• Partner with product, infrastructure, and finance teams to ship new pricing models.
• Own usage & limits across the product family, payments, grants & promotions, ledger, and internal data insights.
