Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering management experience
• 8+ years of full-time software development experience
• Demonstrated ability to hire and lead productive engineering teams
• Experience nurturing inclusive, high-trust team cultures
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with product and design teams
• Strong technical background and hands-on problem-solving for large-scale systems
• Ability to thrive with autonomy and responsibility

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering leaders, product managers, and designers to shape the team’s strategy and roadmap
• Demonstrate first principles thinking when approaching complex problems and system design
• Foster a healthy team culture with trust and psychological safety
• Define processes enabling the team to do its best work in a fast-paced environment
• Coach and mentor engineers to advance their careers and skills
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as part of Stripe’s engineering leadership
• Collaborate with Stripe’s recruiting team to attract top engineering talent
