Job summary

Cursor is hiring a Software Engineer, Billing to evolve the systems that power how we charge and reconcile revenue across developers and enterprise teams. You will own the metering pipeline, ledger, and invoicing integration with Stripe, ensuring accuracy and scale.

You will build billing APIs and tooling for product, finance, and customer success teams, improve observability, and ship new pricing models with minimal risk. This is core to our platform.

Qualifications

• Shipped a usage-based billing system.
• Integrated with Stripe and its data model.
• Built or maintained a financial ledger.
• Prioritized correctness in billing systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement usage and billing system changes end-to-end from UI updates to invoiced amounts in Stripe.
• Evolve ledger system for balances, credits, overages, and adjustments with strict correctness.
• Integrate deeply with Stripe (subscriptions, usage records, invoices, webhooks).
• Build billing APIs and internal tooling for product, finance, and customer success to query customer state and investigate billing issues.
• Improve observability of the billing pipeline to quickly detect and debug billing regressions.
• Collaborate with product, infra, and finance to ship new pricing models safely.
• Own usage limits, payments, grants, and ledger across the product family.
