Job summary

Stripe is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Billing Collections team in San Francisco to set the technical direction of our billing platforms and lead a high‑impact engineering group.

You will own architecture, drive reliability, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, revenue, and support teams to deliver scalable, payment‑oriented collection experiences that reduce unpaid balances and accelerate cash flow for customers around the world.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering management directing teams of 5+ engineers.
• 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
• Proven ability to drive rigorous decisions and partner across teams.
• Strong focus on system reliability, operational health, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Lead core architecture enabling billing collection.
• Own technical strategy and roadmap for billing collection.
• Drive operational excellence across billing infrastructure systems.
• Hire and develop engineers as the team grows.
• Partner with stakeholders across organizations to deliver billing solutions.
• Work backwards from internal and external customer needs to define priorities and scope.
• Define and uphold engineering standards across the team.
