Job summary

Hydrogen Group is seeking a Senior Energy Storage Engineer to support the engineering, design and execution of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and renewable energy infrastructure projects.

This remote US-based role offers a 12-month contract and compensation up to $67.94 per hour, with travel approximating 25% to project sites as required. The successful candidate will lead technical development and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust storage solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering design for renewable energy or energy storage.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and complex energy infrastructure systems.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings, engineering studies and equipment specifications.
• Ability to independently manage specialised engineering tasks and investigate issues.
• Strong project coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% for project activities.

Responsibilities

• Support design, engineering and technical development of utility-scale BESS.
• Provide engineering oversight for major equipment and electrical infrastructure.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
• Evaluate studies, identify risks and develop solutions to improve performance.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers and consultants for effective integration.
• Contribute to safety, compliance and site design improvements.
