Job summary

Applied Medical is seeking a Senior Manager, Benefits in California to lead the Benefits team and oversee medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, and 401(k) programs for active and separated team members. You will manage carriers, brokers, and system implementations while ensuring COBRA, HIPAA, and related reporting compliance.

In this role you will direct open enrollment, analyze cost trends, and communicate benefits changes internally.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of benefits administration or management experience.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, and related reporting requirements.
• Experience with HRIS platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team player.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Adapt to changing workloads and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Benefits team in administering medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, 401(k), COBRA for active and separated members.
• Manage new benefits system implementations and testing (HRIS database).
• Manage relationships with insurance carriers and brokers; review data and renewals.
• Review benefits contracts and plan documents with legal as needed.
• Direct open enrollment, including 401(k) presentations.
• Monitor trends, costs, and regulatory changes; propose program improvements.
• Prepare and review benefits communications for team members.
• Provide timely responses to questions via phone and email.
