Cayuse is seeking a Senior Behavioral Scientist to serve as a technical expert and strategic partner, translating research into practical, policy-aligned interventions for federal programs. You will work with clients, senior data scientists, and ethical review boards to design, test, and optimize compliance initiatives and data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in public policy, behavioral science, psychology, or related field.
• 7–10+ years applying behavioral science in government, policy, or consulting.
• Formal training in experimental design and statistics.
• Proven success designing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral interventions.
• Strong skills in experimental design and quantitative interpretation.
• Experience translating academic research to practical solutions.
• Leadership of cross-functional teams on large data projects.
• Experience in public sector or regulated environments preferred.
• Ability to obtain Federal Public Trust Clearance.
• Background checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Engage with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into data analytics objectives.
• Consult and build relationships across agencies or departments.
• Mentor junior researchers and guide cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to deploy data-driven solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Lead projects with ownership and accountability for outcomes.
• Stay updated on data engineering trends and analytics methods.
• Develop behavioral strategies aligned to organizational priorities.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities under tight timelines.
• Present findings to executive leadership and shape policy or program design.
• Identify frictions and biases affecting performance or customer experience.
• Evaluate interventions and translate results into actionable recommendations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
