Job summary

Cayuse seeks a Senior Behavioral Scientist to act as a technical expert and strategic partner, translating behavioral science into actionable policies for federal programs. You will collaborate with clients, senior data scientists, and cross‑functional teams to design assessments, run experiments, and deliver data‑driven recommendations for implementation.

The role requires presenting to executives, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring timely, high‑impact deliverables within federal governance

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in public policy, behavioral economics, psychology, cognitive science, decision sciences, human factors, or related field.
• 7–10+ years in applying behavioral science in organizational, government, consulting, or policy environments.
• Formal training in experimental design, statistical analysis, customer experience, or behavioral research methodologies.
• Proven success designing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral interventions that influence decision‑making and program outcomes.
• Strong working knowledge of experimental design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of quantitative results.

Responsibilities

• Engage with senior government stakeholders to translate needs into data analytics objectives and strategies.
• Mentor junior researchers and guide cross‑functional teams through the behavioral insight process.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to design and deploy data‑driven solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship and ensure quality deliverables across projects.
• Stay current on data engineering trends to continually improve processes and solutions.
• Develop behavioral strategies aligned to organizational priorities with measurable outcomes.
• Present findings to executive leadership and inform policy or program design.
