Job summary

WSP is seeking a senior Business Development leader for the Cross Collaboration Hub West in San Diego, CA to drive growth in power systems for data centers, microgrids, electrification, and large campuses. The role involves leading client-facing initiatives, building a global internal network, and representing WSP at conferences while guiding proposals and market capture with delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in power systems or critical facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, especially behind the meter.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Willingness to travel to support engagement and sector activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and strategic initiatives in behind the meter power markets with leadership and delivery teams.
• Build internal WSP network of resources across business and global regions to deliver holistic solutions.
• Represent WSP at conferences and with client teams as a business leader.
• Foster innovative business development strategies across diverse markets.
• Cultivate long-term partnerships with clients, vendors, and ecosystem partners.
• Engage clients to expand key relationships and oversee proposal preparation and market capture.
• Coordinate commercial term negotiations across delivery teams.
• Ensure ethical decision-making and alignment with WSP’s Code of Conduct.
